Badocks Woods

Badock’s Wood is a 400‑year‑old ancient woodland in Southmead, North Bristol, with streams, meadows, bluebells, wildlife, and a Bronze Age burial mound — a brilliant, quiet, shaded walking spot, especially for dogs. It’s open 24/7 and free. Badock’s Wood is excellent for dog walking thanks to:

  • Shaded woodland → great for hot days

  • Stream access → shallow, safe paddling spots

  • Meadow areas → decompression and sniffing.

  • Quiet pockets → good for reactive or nervous dogs

Dog waste bins are available near the main entrances. Note: It’s not as open as The Downs — more enclosed, more scent-rich, and more varied terrain. Perfect for enrichment walks.
